Boatraces in Lapland - 4th June

We journeyed to Lapland today to meet up with the Eskimos and enjoy some boat races! But first some important business !!
This is our ADC, Kitty, handing over our Gold Star for our Star Pack Evaluation.

Well done to all our Leaders and Cubs!
We have a truly magnificent pack!

Riding our sleighs through the snow.
One cub was chosen to ride in the sleigh (old tyre) and the rest of the Six pulled him/her along.

Look at the smiles on those faces!

It was then on to the next game - to test the 'shakeability' of the cubs in the cold winters of Lapland!

Cubs had to run up, pick up some jelly on a stick, carry it back to the line and then only eat it!

Great fun!

Our handcraft this week was making little sailing boats. The cubs designed their own masts.

... and got to sail them ...

Two team were set up and they had boat races.

go, go, go, go...

It is not always easy to negotaite the snow, and we always need to overcome obstacles.

We set up a quick obstacle course which completed our cub programme.

and because it was our last meeting for the term, we had a little party.

Two of our cubs went up to Scouts tonight.
We had a going up ceremony for them.

Introducing them to our Group Scouter.

One of our cubs who went up to scouts a couple of weeks ago was invested.

Luke's dad is one of our Assitant Pack Scouters - so it was extra special.
Good Luck Luke on your scouting journey.
We are now on long school holidays because of the Soccer World Cup.
Till next Time
Keep Cubbing
