1st Kempton - Egg-citing Easter

What a fantastic programme we had at Cubs last night!
 Steam Release:  Catch Easter Bunnies
The Easter Bunny has gone mad.  He keeps dropping and loosing the eggs out of his basket.  Cubs have to collect eggs and put them back into basket.  Sixers to be Easter Bunnies

 Activity:  Easter Egg Holders
Each Cub gets a 2L bottle that has been pre cut.  They glue on ears, eyes, tail etc to make it look like a bunny.

Relay Game:  Egg and spoon Race
Cubs line up in their Sixes.  First cub carries a spoon with an Easter Egg to a predetermined line and back.  Winner is the Six who finishes first.

 Handcraft:  Easter Greeting Cards
Making greeting cards for a special person

 Wide Game:  Easter egg hunt
Easter eggs were hidden in tree and around the playing field - cubs had to find 1 each

 Circle Game:  Chocolate eating frenzy
Cubs in a circle.  A plate with a bar of chocolate, knife and fork, bunny ears, bow tie and a waist coat are placed in the centre.  A dice is introduced and each cub gets a turn to throw the dice.  If he is lucky enough to throw a six, he has the opportunity to dress and cut himself a piece of chocolate and eat it but if another cub throws a six during this time, he must stop and hand over to the next cub.

Rescue 10111 at 1st Kempton - 8th March 2013

Paramedics, Firemen and Policemen are people we all look up to and respect.  Let's have a look at a day in the life of a policeman.
Steam Release:  Highway Chase.  All Sixers are runaway drunken drivers.  The rest of the pack must catch them and bring them to Akela.
 Drunken driver being caught
What do we need to have when we have an emergency?  Bagheera talking to the cubs about their Emergency Kits
Handcraft:  Cubs make their own emergency kits.

We can hear the helicopter coming to the accident to help the injured
Active Game :  Helicopter Jump  2litre bottle on long rope which gets swung around.  Cubs must jump over it.

There are many emergency situations that happen
Play Acting:  Each Six is given an emergency situation and will need to mime it for the rest of the pack.

there has been an accident at cubs and you need to call for assistance
Circle Game:  cubs sit in a circle and are numbered.  Two cubs having the same numbers.  When that number is called they run in a clockwise fashion and back to their original position and in to the centre. First one there gets to make the emergency call
While we waiting for the paramedics, lets practice the Recovery Position

..... and yet another cub is invested into 1st Kempton

 Congratulation!

Lost in the Jungle with my buddy - 1st March

..... and another investiture at 1st Kempton....
the Pack continues to grow in leaps and bounds!

Steam Release:   The jungle has so many trees - we have just done an emergency landing..... see how many trees you can find!
Relay Game:  We have come to a river that we need to cross - in Sixers let us see who can cross first.

Team Game:  Can you hear all those animals - let us see you find your match
Cubs are given cards with animal names on them and have to find their partners.
A jungle would not be a jungle without mosquitos!
Divide the cubs into two groups with enough paper balls for each group.  These they throw at the other group - trying to kill the mosquitos

Oh dear our buddy has fallen down the cliff - let us rescue him.
The younger cubs learnt the reef know whilst the older cubs learnt the bowline

Hand craft:  Cubs were given a "quackie" on all the knots they had to know.

This will help them revise each time

We have found our buddy!  We do not want to leave him behind!
 Cubs play 3-legged race
Another successful meeting at 1st Kempton.
