Pow Wow 2008

Pow Wow comes around every 2 years and is held in a different province each time. We caught the plane late on Wednesday evening and flew direct to Cape Town and then drove out to Stellenbosch - the heart of the winelands!
Here 180 Pack Scouters from around South Africa joined together for friendship and fun .... and most importantly to learn new skills.

The Gauteng Contingent

We spent an enjoyable time at Gordon's Bay whilst on our outing. Here waiting for a cup of coffee!

The venue was magnificent - nestled between the mountains of the Western Cape.

Campfire songs - and here a Pack Scouter gives her best of "Cecil was a Caterpillar"
Just look at that campfire blanket!

Gordan's Bay Beauties.
"swimming" in their stockings!"

Each contingent has to put on a different skit..... we took the Jungle Book characters and did a Maypole dance to "Bare Necessities" .... our necessities being anything from lipstick to hairdriers!
Hathi - our beautiful elephant!

After a wonderful banquet it is tradition that scarves and badges are traded. The 3 of us arrived as Gautengers, wearing a blue scarf, and left wearing the Limpopo scarf.
This Friday we are holding a Mother's Day Tea
Till then
Keep Cubbing
