We continue with our Movie theme and today we learnt all about "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief"
Percy Jackson did not know that he was the son of Poseidon...
Steam Release Game: Poseidon, Hades, Zeus, Minotaur, Centaur .... cubs must find cards and match name to the description.
He had a best friend Grover who was also his protector - he could skip well with his goat legs...Relay Game: Cubs in Sixes, skip to a pre-determined line and back.
His teacher, Mr Brunner gave him a pen telling him that it is a powerful weapon BUT a fury wants to get it away from percy so let's pass it around and keep it safe! 
Circle Game: Ball tossStart with all the players in a circle with one person holding the ball. The starter throws the ball to the person directly across from them. That cub then throws the ball to the person to the left of the starter. Play continues in the same way, with each person throwing the ball to the person to the left of the person they got the ball from, untill all players have touched the ball. To add further fun, bring in another ball that is just passed around clockwise.
Percy decides to travel in a dangerous quest to retrieve the lightning bolt and save his mother but he must convince and gather his friends to help him.

To begin choose 1 person to be "it" and one person to be the "runner".
Everyone else finds a buddy and scatter around the playing field. On go, "it" must try to catch the "runner" but the "runner" can link arms with a pair of buddies before he gets tagged. When the runner finds a buddy, the buddy on the other side of the pair then becomes the "runner". If the runner cannot link to a buddy and gets tagged, he becomes "it".

Oh dear, they have been attached by Hades who wantes the lightning bolft for himself. We must get it back.
Game: Catch that lightning bolt
Each cub puts a sock or twig into his/her back pocket or pants. The object of the game is to grab other player's lightning bolt without losing your own. Any player who loses a sock must sit down, but if another player passes close enough the sockless player can grab himself a new sock and re-enter the game.
With the day saved, Percy returns to school and a normal life until the next adventure!... and before we knew it, it was time to close....
