"Funny Money" - a strange name for such a wonderful cause!
Each week we ask the cubs to bring a little bit of money (usually loose change in mom's purse!) which we collect over the term or year, and this goes to a good cause.Above in the picture is IMRANI the Guide Dog for the Blind. The cubs collected their 'funny money' for about 3 years before we could afford the sponsorship fees in 2009.
It was probably around 2004 or 2005 that we had once again collected enough 'funny money' to sponsor IKE - this beautiful black labrador guide dog - who is now with his wonderful owner in Namibia.
We started off our 'funny money' sponsorship when we gave the East Rand Police Dogs a bullet proof jacket.. Crime is quite rife and when the police dogs are taken in to risky areas, the bullet proof jackets help them tremendously.
We encourage all the cubs to contribute...
